So, yesterday I was out running errands: hauling the trash and donating items from our apartment. When I went to get my donatables out of the trunk I noticed another grocery bag back there that I had missed before. Since I'd been grocery shopping earlier in the week I thought I must have forgotten something. Instead of finding eggs, milk, candy, or anything immediately edible, I saw feathers. They were still attached to the dead Ptarmagin. I still shake a little thinking of it.
I called Keith and he apologized for forgetting to take it out. He'd shot it in Healy last week while we were there on spring break. He pointed out that at least it didn't have a head, so I did not have to see eyes looking back at me. I was not sure if that made me feel better or not. Instead of a dead bird, I had a HEADLESS dead bird in my trunk. I feel very scarred. Maybe after a few sessions of therapy I'll get over it. Besides the fact the whole situation makes me cringe, I think it is quite funny! Only in Alaska, and as my friend Lara interjected, with Keith, would this happen to me.

Cecelia sits by herself
We did spring break last week and enjoyed the time that we spent with Daddy. Daddy also enjoyed the time he spent away from us! It's okay, we didn't want to play outside in the cold and Keith did. We're wimps. Instead, we stayed inside where Mommy read when she could and Cecelia bit things (every chance she could).
We went to Anchorage together (the big city!!!), ate out, went to the temple, and saw Twilight (Daddy insisted). We got a taste of spring-or at least warmer winter weather-and we can't wait for that weather to hit Fairbanks, in about a month ;)
