So, Keith and I are buying a house in Healy. Since we signed the papers on April Fool’s Day, I thought I’d have a little fun with my family. I sent them the following picture of our “new” house, intending to horrify them with conditions in Alaska. I sent real pictures of the interior. Not a single one of them wrote back in alarm about what we had gotten ourselves into. With the inside looking so good, they were not that worried about it being a “fixer-upper” on the outside. Sigh…
Below is the real house. It’s not crooked, that’s my camera angle :) There are some nice big windows behind those trees too.
Entry way
Living room/dining room
Living room from the other angle (kids not included)
Kitchen
Girl’s room (which Cecelia wishes came with the four year old girl, and her toys)
Baby’s room
Our room
One of the bathrooms
There was also a garage for Keith, but it wasn’t picture worthy to me. Also, I was taking pictures on another evening when I’d stopped in for some papers, not the night that we saw it. So, when my mom says that they sure didn’t clean up for us, I say, they didn’t expect me to take pictures then.
We’re so very very excited and ought to be moving in sometime in August.

Thought that's how all the house's looked like!
Too funny, see what non-Alaskans think of us? lol
Way gorgeous house, congrats!!!
So I totally missed your update in March about going to TX and LA. I'm in Dallas area. Were you close? If so, I am so disappointed we couldn't meet!! And wow I love the house. I love the exterior and the view looks great back there. Mountains and evergreens included. that's so exciting, Jesse! Congratulations on being home owners. Amazing. I can't wait to see pictures after you move in and make it your own.
I was pretty sure the first picture wasn't really your house...but I didn't want to offend if it was. :) I did think the interior pictures looked beautiful! Yea for your very own house!!
Apparently it wasn't just my family that didn't say anything. Keith's Utah relatives didn't notice anything amiss either. It must be the "expectations" that everyone has of Alaska!
We can't wait to move in!
